Prevent Child Abuse Texas has many volunteer opportunities. Positions are tailored to individual talents and schedules. Some volunteers even work from home.
Clerical/Admin Support: Volunteers help with general clerical work, including answering the phone, data entry, copying, collating, and preparing supplies for public exhibits.
Legislative Advocacy: Volunteers track state and federal legislation and/or research specific issues and draft summary reports. Volunteers also assist with planning, logistics, scheduling and arrangements for our annual legislative conference.
Annual Conference on the Prevention of Child Abuse: Volunteers are needed to help finalize registration information for our annual March conference, compile materials for participants, and staff conference functions.
Public awareness: Volunteers take PCA Texas literature to public sites and community events.
Fundraising: Volunteers plan and execute events, solicit donors, and research grant opportunities.
Community Events: Volunteers staff events including our Walk for Children, various exhibitions, and presentations across the state.
Special Events: Volunteers assist in all areas of planning agency fund raising events throughout the year. Typical volunteer roles are assisting with silent auction, ticket sales, on-site logistics, planning, and various other coordination-related activities.
Outreach: Volunteers give presentations within the community on ways to get involved in our state-wide public awareness campaign, Pinwheels for Prevention, and help organize and provide support for Pinwheels for Preventions events around the state.
Board of Directors: Serve as an active member on the Prevent Child Abuse Texas Board of Directors.
